Winter & Christmas are here peeps! I am immensely excited about changing my clothes, shoes, makeup... but more important, CHRISTMAS IS FINALLY HERE! I hope you're having a lovely time with you beloved ones and getting your bellies stuffed with great Christmas dinners. This is probably my favourite time of the year because of cosy candles, sweater weather and warm shimmery makeup looks. To create a winter makeup similar to mine you'll just need gold eyeshadows, potent mascaras and a dark lipliner.
Preparation is key
Before applying a plethora of makeup products on your skin try to keep it clean and moisturised with some serum, hydrating cream or just a smooth primer. I've decided to stick with my all time favourite Makeup Forever Smoothing Primer and a bit of Avène Lip balm with cold cream to prepare my lips before applying a dark lipliner.
All about the face
First things first (I'm the realist...), we're going to focus on the eyes. Personally I don't normally use an eye primer but the decision is up to you. With a blending brush apply a pale eyeshadow all over your lids (Urban Decay Naked 2- Foxy) and then use Half Baked (same palette) on the inner corners of your eyes. Using the same brush apply on the outer corners Marc Jacobs Style Eye- Con No.7 Plush Shadow (The Lolita 206) in the shade rosy copper sheen as well as some matte dark coffee brown shade on the crease of your lids. Then, blend it all in creating a smoky shimmery gold shade all over your lids and add with a liner brush some rosy copper sheen shade over your lower lash line before applying Maybelline Lash Sensational Intense Black Mascara, Lash Mania Reloaded Mascara by Essence (discontinued product) and Clinique High Impact Mascara on your bottom and lower lashes. Lastly, fill in your eyebrows with any brow pencil (Maybelline Master Shape Brow Pencil in soft brown) or eyeshadow such as the matte dark coffee brown shade.
Next comes foundation and concealer. For a smooth, moisturised and full coverage look I like to stay true to my basics and use my all time favourites Nars Sheer Glow Foundation in Mont blanc and Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer in Ivory. Powder your foundation (Rimmel London Say Matte Pressed Powder) and add a bit more of colour to your face by using either a contour palette or some bronzing and highlighter powders like I do. I'm currently obsessed with Silk Pearl Illuminating Bronzer by KIKO MILANO so I highlight my cheeks and mark my jawline with this product.
To end this little makeup tutorial I'm going to contour and fill in my lips with a dark nude shade. I recently found, while I was out and about on a girly shopping trip, a beautiful dark nude shade which makes my lips alive, fuller and very pretty. I'm talking about KIKO MILANO 312 shade which sadly is not longer available as Black Friday was a success over KIKO MILANO online store (I think I pretty much helped to empty the whole store). Apart from KIKO MILANO dark nude lipliners I also highly recommend Essence long lasting lipliner in Plum Cake (it is absolutely incredible and makes your lips x10 bigger!).
I'm loving gold eyeshadows, lots of mascara and dark lips at the moment, what do you fancy wearing during this time of the year?
